WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?
I don't really think that I decided to be an entrepreneur. I think that being an entrepreneur was instilled in me at a young age. As a kid, I saw examples of people all around me working hard for their money, and I think that inspired me to become my own boss. Of course, it wasn't until I became an adult that I was able to gather resources and knowledge to make that dream a reality. I like to call myself a corporate hustler — the boss of my own schedule, my own mind, and my own destiny.
WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?
My family and my future are what keep me motivated. There is nothing like living the life that you want to live, and providing those same privileges to your kids. Growing up we had very little. We managed to have a decent living, however I would like my kids to have more options than I had as a young girl. My family is what motivates me, and my future is what keeps me working.
HOW DO YOU JUGGLE BEING A MOM, WIFE, AND BOSS?
Being a mom, wife, and boss comes naturally to me, but it takes work — a lot of work. As a mother, my role is to nurture and oversee over the household, which is still a work in progress. I’m not perfect, but having a schedule has been extremely important in keeping myself sane. Whether at home or in my work, I try to tackle one thing at a time, one day at a time, with the confidence that I am the boss.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS?
In the next five years, I’m going to prioritize being more peaceful in spirit. Maybe that involves another little one in my family. Maybe that involves being financially fit, and able to take on new challenges. Whatever the future holds, I want to be in a place where I can help women across the nation acknowledge, accessorize, and plan their power.
All women shine here.
Women are unstoppable. Don’t allow anyone to tell you otherwise.
We support you. Support each other.
There’s nothing you can’t do.
